Can I seek forgiveness for childhood wrongs?

Question:

Assalam alaykum wa rahmat Allah wa barakatuh.

When I was a youngster and possibly even after adulthood, I'd climb into gardens of other people like my neighbours once, let's say, a soccer fell in their backyard. Should I now seek their forgiveness? Can I go against a right of a creation?

There's also one more thing I did when I was a kid. This was really immature . I threw eggs occasionally at a persons home. I am not sure if they reside in precisely the exact same house. In addition, I know where the home is.

In reference to this, what should I do, without making myself known to them?

Answer:

Wa alaykum assalam wa rahmat Allah wa barakatuh.

It could be a very good idea to make a general repentance from all sin and transgressions in your life. Allah Most High says:

Say, O Prophet, that Allah says, ‘O My servants who have exceeded the limits against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins. He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’ (Sura al Zamr 39:53)

Then, some righteous scholars have proposed giving something in charity or the like together with the intent of making up things to people you might have wronged unknowingly.>

Muslim listed a lengthy tradition (hadith) where the Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, said: The bankrupt [individual ] from my community is the person who comes on the Last Day with his prayer, fasting and zakat, yet he swore at so and so, accused so and so of fornication, wrongfully swallowed the wealth of so and so," and other wrongs that result in his great deeds being removed from him, so adapting to nothing.

In cases like this, especially, you can look at leaving an anonymous notice in the house in question, describing your sorrow at being included in such behaviour, possibly in spite of a gift. As for only carrying your ball from a backyard, this wasn't the perfect thing to do as it involves entry without permission, but as long as you did not damage any land, repenting alone could suffice.

And Allah Most High knows best.
